Holiday

Ipswich Caring is dedicated to providing a happy holiday season to our families with all children under the age of eighteen.  Ipswich Caring families complete an application in the fall providing our shoppers with the information needed for each child. All information is confidential and kept anonymous. We shop for winter coats, boots, hats, and snowsuits to be delivered in November ahead of the weather. In December our shoppers have completed their lists for clothes and gifts.  All gifts are delivered by our off duty officers of the Ipswich Police Department with the generous loan of Ipswich Shellfish trucks. Families also receive a gift certificate for their holiday dinner.  If you would like to be included in our Holiday Program please complete application click here and mail it to Ipswich Caring, P. O. Box 584, Ipswich, MA 01938

Holiday for Senior Citizens

We make sure we connect with as many senior citizens as possible during the holiday season. With the help of the Ipswich Council on Aging our volunteers try to visit our seniors with a Christmas cake in December. If you would like to be part of this program, please call Lynne Gibbs at the Ipswich Council on Aging - 978.356.6650.

Birthday

Ipswich Caring mails a gift card to each child up to the age of 18 for his or her birthday every year. This information is on the application each family completes every October.

Back to School

We are committed to ensure our families have children ready to return to school every September.  In August we arrange for a pickup date for families where they receive backpacks filled with school supplies.  We also launched a back to school sneaker event this August and hope to continue it next year.

Rita Poirier Empowerment Fund

For the last twelve years, this endowment, made possible by the late Rita Poirier, has provided grant support to individuals who need assistance to achieve economic independence and stability.  We provide educational and vocational grant support to pursue and or further opportunity or other venture. Letters of interest are mailed in May of each year with rolling acceptance. Applicants complete an application and meet with the Empowerment fund committee. If you would like more information please email Cheryl Scibisz at cscibisz@gmail.com

Please download this application here if you would like to apply.
